MercyCall’s Efforts in Raising Environmental Awareness and Combating Climate Change
MercyCall is dedicated to preserving the environment and raising awareness about environmental issues among communities, with a commitment to fostering a healthier and more sustainable world. The right to live in a clean and healthy environment is a global aspiration, one that can be achieved through the collective efforts of official bodies and grassroots initiatives focused on environmental education and combating climate change.
In January 2010, Mr. Wael Bakri, the founder of MercyCall, took part in a reforestation project aimed at addressing climate change in partnership with the British Council. This project involved planting over 1,500 saplings across various primary schools and public streets in Omdurman. Following this, awareness lectures were delivered to students in their schools, emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation. MercyCall has also actively participated in numerous local and international climate change events and conferences.
